Formerly known as the partnership for Children, Youth, and Families Foundation
The Mental Health Committee of the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families was comprised of both community volunteers and mental health professionals who saw a need for more accessible mental health resources in our community.
The various components of the Resource Guide are intended for information purposes. We intentionally included only organizations and not any articles, books, or studies, anticipating that the respective websites will continue to include current articles and other helpful, perhaps more pertinent, information.
Our team was made up of licensed therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellness in our community.
At Arlington Foundation for Families and Youth, our mission is to empower families and youth in our community. We strive to provide essential resources and support to ensure a brighter future for all.
This Youth Mental Health and Wellness Resource Guide developed by what was then the Mental Health Committee of the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families, includes both local and national information and resources to help all those who are at any stage of needing and searching for youth mental health and wellness information and help. The information in the Resource Guide is organized into the following four categories, each presenting both local and national resources:
• Crisis Response: resources for crisis intervention, assessment, rapid response and hospitalization; national hotlines
• General Information about Mental Wellness: organizations that provide information, education and raise awareness
• Family Support, Support Groups & Educational Programs: support groups, online counseling or chat services, parenting resources and training programs used at schools
• Youth Assistance & Treatment Options: services provided by schools, county health department, nonprofit organizations, hospitals and private clinics; national helplines; general information about getting treatment; and searchable databases for private providers
The above resources are also available by clicking the drop-down tabs in the Youth Resources menu above; PDF versions are available below.

Arlington’s Youth Mental Health and Wellness Committee (YMHW Committee) created this Resource Guide in collaboration with community members, the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families, Arlington Public Schools’ Department of Student Services, the Arlington Foundation for Families and Youth and the Arlington County Department of Human Services’ Children’s Behavioral Health Bureau.
The YMHW Committee is made up of Arlington community members who are concerned about the mental health needs of our Arlington youth and their families. Committee members meet regularly to discuss youth mental health and wellness needs and receive and share updates. The committee also identifies issues and topics related to youth mental health on which we can collaborate and help as appropriate to advocate to the board members of
Arlington Public Schools and Arlington County, and disseminate information and raise awareness on youth mental health-related issues in our community.
