Carlin Springs Community School

Carlin Springs Community School is Arlington’s only award-winning community school. Using the school building as a hub, it integrates the school-day instructional program, after school programs, and parent programs into a cohesive set of year-round opportunities to promote student achievement and stable, healthy families. 

Most of the opportunities associated with the community school model occur before or after school and in the evenings.

Ways the Foundation supports the community school:

• Computer literacy classes for parents and students during the evenings.
• Principal’s coffees, where parents learn more about what is happening in school and how to support their student’s learning.
• Funding for student field trips.
• Home visits where teachers meet with parents and family members in their homes to learn more about the families and any challenges they may face.
